Clinical Training for Healthcare Professionals

At JWC First Aid, we offer a Basic Life Support (BLS) course that’s specifically tailored for healthcare settings. Delivered by paramedics and experienced ambulance clinicians, this training is practical, hands-on, and focused on ensuring your team can respond confidently in medical emergencies.

This course is fully CQC-compliant and aligned with NHS mandatory training requirements. It’s designed to support patient safety, clinical governance, and workforce competence. Whether you’re working in a hospital, GP surgery, or clinic, our training ensures that your staff is prepared for any emergency situation.

Why Choose Our BLS with Emergency Drugs Course?

We are a paramedic-led training provider with extensive experience in both clinical practice and structured education for healthcare professionals. We know how demanding healthcare environments can be, and our training is designed to be efficient, evidence-based, and directly applicable to your daily work.

The course is focused on giving your staff the skills and confidence to recognise patient deterioration and act swiftly. It’s practical and rooted in real-world clinical decision-making, so your team will know exactly how to respond when a medical emergency arises.

Practical, Hands-On Clinical Training

This is not just a theory-based course; it’s designed to be clinical-specific, providing your team with real-life, hands-on training. Some of the key aspects of the training include:

  • Early Recognition of Deteriorating Patients: Helping your staff spot the signs of cardiac arrest and other medical emergencies as early as possible.
  • High-Quality Adult CPR: We use QCPR technology to provide real-time feedback on CPR techniques, ensuring your team performs high-quality compressions, with the right depth, rate, recoil, and ventilation.
  • Safe AED Use: We teach your team to confidently and safely use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) during emergencies.
  • Pit-Stop Crew Cardiac Arrest Management: This team-based approach focuses on minimising interruptions and ensuring smooth communication between team members during a cardiac arrest.
  • Emergency Drug Use: Staff will learn how to manage medical emergencies using the emergency medications commonly found in clinical crash-out kits. We’ll cover indications, contraindications, and safe usage within their clinical scope.
  • Scenario-Based Learning: Real-life clinical scenarios will help your team get comfortable with using the equipment, managing emergencies, and working with others in high-pressure situations.

The course combines theoretical input with hands-on practice, making it engaging and effective.

Tailored to Your Team’s Needs

We know that every team and setting is different, so we offer flexible training options. Our BLS with Emergency Drugs course can be delivered to:

  • Mixed clinical and non-clinical groups, so that everyone, from clinical staff to administrative personnel, is aware of the emergency procedures and can work together when needed.
  • Separate cohorts, for example, clinical staff in one session and non-clinical staff in another, ensuring that each group gets training relevant to their role.

We can also tailor the content to match your local Trust policies, the patient groups you serve, and the specific roles of your staff, ensuring the training is relevant and impactful.
